Is imitation the best form of flattery?

I know a lot of people think that copying one's hair style, ideas, clothes, lifestyle and whatever else is the most sincerest form of flattery. Well I have to disagree, I find it extremely annoying.

I can understand how people could find this as a form of flattery and maybe that's what they have to tell themselves so they can stroke their own ego, but lets be real. It's a lack of originality. I want my friends to be different. Not like me or not like one another, I want them to be "original" in their own way.

I totally get it. In today's world, a lot of shit has already been done and perhaps being original is becoming non-existent. However, I think we need to be more creative and do our own thing, be our own person. Fine steal an idea, but give credit where credit is due. Don't just steal the idea, make it YOUR idea. YOUR personal something. Let us see it and immediately think of you. Not because it reminded us of something that's been done before, but because its been done by YOU and you made that idea your bitch.
